Ruth Langsford currently co-presents ITV1’s flagship daytime programme, This Morning, throughout the summer and every Friday with her husband, Eamonn Holmes.
Ruth’s television career started at ITV in her native West Country more than 25 years ago where she presented the Six o’clock evening news programme. From there she moved into national television and has fronted programmes for BBC One, BBC Two, ITV and various satellite channels.
Ruth is a keen cook, a skill which has most recently seen her compete in, and win, ITV1′s Ten Mile Menu, and last year take up the challenge to cook for Marco Pierre White in his ITV1′s Kitchen Nightmares series. She has hosted several cookery programmes including Carlton Television’s Food Network Daily and two series of Taste of the West in her beloved West Country.
Her love of gardening led to her presenting The Great British Garden Show for BBC Two, ITV’s gardening quiz show The Answer Lies In The Soil and Gardens of the Millennium for the History Channel.
Ruth also holds a passion for fashion and most recently has become the face of Playtex bras.
Never shy to try her hand at something challenging, Ruth learnt how to play the drums to raise money for Save the Children in ITV1′s Born to Shine.
Ruth lives in Surrey with Eamonn and their nine-year-old son Jack and their dog Maggie, an adopted puppy from the Dog’s Trust.
She is also an active Ambassador for the Alzheimer’s Society as her father had the disease.
