What we do

Plank PR is a communications agency specialising in the publicity of production companies, television programmes and presenters, and their associated merchandise whether it be books, apps, events, products, corporate or charitable associations.

Set up by Director, Louise Plank, in 2005, Plank PR has a team of five publicists who are experienced in providing a comprehensive publicity service. Drafting, coordinating and issuing initial announcements to trade and consumer press; planning strategies across broadcast, print and online media; creating crisis management advice, and providing thorough Q and A briefings, the knowledgeable team implements highly successful campaigns with impactful results.

Our relationships with production companies ensures we deliver confident management of all areas of their commissions, from writing billings and programme information, to liaising with picture desks to ensure that strong episodic and generic pictures are delivered, to securing previews and reviews and wider features and news pieces.

Likewise, we pride ourselves on our relations with broadcasters, from commissioning editors to press office counterparts, we are trusted suppliers of publicity that delivers and communicates key messages effectively and responsibly.

We take duty of care very seriously, whether it’s contributors in documentaries, members of the public who find themselves at the heart of popular programmes, or presenters who may have sensitive issues to deal with in their interviews.

Creative thinking and effectively maximising time to deliver press coverage is also key to the service we offer; we are very familiar working with production companies to create opportunities alongside often complex or dense filming schedules.

Our areas of specialism in programme publicity are as follows; news and current affairs, factual, factual entertainment and features programming. In line with the General Data Protection Regulation, Plank PR is committed to protecting the security of the personal information that is shared with us in the course of publicising any project.

From live programming which generates news lines including BBC One’s Question Time and The Big Questions, BBC Three’s Free Speech; to topical editions of Panorama and Dispatches including Stephen Lawrence Panorama edition, Tim Lovejoy’s Dispatches edition looking at the issues for single fathers, to fast-turnaround documentaries including Oscar Pistorius: What Really Happened? and Why Did Oscar Pistorius Kill Our Daughter, Plank PR is experienced in managing news lines for press use, guaranteeing appropriate credits to raise awareness of programme content and profile.
