I think it’s fairly well known that I’m a big parkrun fan. I’m not sure that there is anyone that knows me personally or professionally who isn’t aware of how big a part of my life it is, and how happy it makes me.

Many of you will have embraced my 100th UK parkrun, The Plank Ton a couple of years ago, so it will come as no surprise that I have been preparing another version of The Plank Ton to celebrate my 100th Gunnersbury parkrun.  To make it extra-special, I’ve been calculating it carefully to tie-in with my birthday.

It’s my perfect birthday plan – on Saturday, February 15th at 9am (arrive 8:45am), I would love to get as many friends and friends-of-friends to run The Birthday Plank Ton #thebirthdayplankton with me and then join me for a birthday breakfast afterwards at a nearby café.

For those of you who’ve never experienced parkrun, it’s a free, 5K event which you can run, jog, walk or a mixture of all! It’s NOT a race, so there’s no pressure to run in a particular time and it is one of the friendliest events you could ever wish for.

All you need to do is register at http://www.parkrun.org.uk/register/ and you’ll be just 5K away from

helping to make my birthday one of the most memorable of my life – no pressure!!!

You must remember to print out your barcode and bring it with you as, without it, your run won’t register.

If you follow me @runsinpearls on Twitter and Instagram you will also know that I’m running the London Marathon for Yes to Life Charity, so, as an added incentive, for every person who attends The Birthday Plank Ton, my company, Plank PR will be donating £10 to the @yestolife fundraising page. https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/LouandBev

For those of you who can’t make the run but would like to donate (or you would like to donate anyway to help me in my London Marathon mission to hit my £6,000 target) then I would be very grateful as would my best friend Bev as we are directly raising money for her sister-in-law, Kelly’s cancer care.

I really hope you are able to be part of The Plank Ton Part Two and do feel free to bring a friend and share the parkrun love.

Oh, and we’ll be using #thebirthdayplankton on the run-up so do post away using this hashtag!
