WEEK 14

**NEW** Joe Lycett's Got Your Back

Comedian Joe Lycett, famed for his epic battles with petty officials and dodgy scammers, fights for the consumer rights of the Great British public in this new series. With the help of his assistant Mark Silcox, a weekly celebrity guest, and some daring hidden camera investigations, Joe campaigns on behalf of viewers who've been wronged by big corporations, caught out by small print, and hoodwinked by fraudsters. From dishing the dirt on unhygienic takeaways and battling with big banks, to pulling back the covers on sub-par hotel rooms, and taking low budget airlines for a bumpy ride, Joe is determined in his quest for consumer justice. This time the celebrity guest Kathy Burke assists Joe as he battles with a big bank and puts advertising slogans to the test.

Race Across The World

On the penultimate leg of BBC Two’s unrivalled travel series that has taken viewers on a journey through the wilds of Kazakhstan, to ancient villages in China, this leg sees the remaining four teams head through the dense forests and bustling metropolises of Cambodia and Vietnam, and the final checkpoint before Singapore – the island paradise of Koh Rong.

With no access to smart phones, the internet or credit cards, can our teams keep the end goal in sight and put aside any differences as they battle to reach the final checkpoint?

After racing across China, father and son, Darron and Alex have a whopping twenty-two hour-lead over their nearest rivals. But they are haemorrhaging money and the other teams are intent on hunting them down.

With the pressure of the race mounting, cracks start to appear in business partners Josh and Felix's relationship - not helped by an unwanted stay in a local brothel. A bold move looks like they could reel in the race leaders but as the storm clouds gather over Ho Chi Min City, will their big chance be washed away?

Starting the leg thirty-eight hours behind the leaders, husband and wife Tony and Elaine have to go for broke to get themselves back in the race but are immediately stalled by an inopportune toilet break.

While best friends Natalie and Shameema are lured by the incredible tailors of Hoi Ann, Darron and Alex attempt to address their lack of funds by heading into the jungle to work with elephants, but will Alex be able to endure the snakes and spiders?

Everything is still to play for as the four remaining teams have just 1875 miles left to the finish line. No-one wants to trip up at this crucial stage so every decision counts. In this incredible adrenaline-charged race, our teams have endured challenges and hardships, relationships have been put to the test, and their journey has taken many twists and turns. In this Race Across the World – where would it take you?

Mary Berry’s Quick Cooking

Mary is off to join the Navy on-board one of its most powerful warships, the HMS Defender, learning how they turn out hundreds of meals a day against the clock and on a tight budget. Whilst the crew run a war training exercise on board the ship, Mary heads to the galley to see if she can help the kitchen team with the mammoth task of prepping, cooking, and serving 240 meals, from scratch, in just 75minutes. Known as ‘Action messing’ Mary is really cooking against the clock.

In her own kitchen, Mary creates dishes inspired by her experience at sea; a tempting Crumble Fish Pie, Special Cauliflower Soup and moreish Mini Sausage Rolls.

Around The World By Train with Tony Robinson

United States of America

Tony begins his journey in San Francisco on the West coast where the hippie heritage he fondly remembers has now been replaced by high tech start-ups. After scoffing down burgers precision engineered by robots he jumps aboard the famous California Zephyr bound for Denver, Colorado.

After a quick stop in Sacramento he find himself in cowboy country and takes a detour to ride over the ranges of a Rocky Mountain ranch before heading to the Colorado State fair where he finds himself grooming Roger, a show pig, ahead of the final judging of the pig show.

From the grandeur of the Rockies, Tony heads deep south to the sticky heat of Louisiana and emerges from the train station into the middle of a Second Line parade, a huge dancing celebration through the streets of New Orleans. For lunch he grabs a stool at a legendary local sandwich shop only to find he’s sitting next to the mayor of New Orleans who explains how the city has been rebuilding since hurricane Katrina. Tony escapes the heat of the city on an airboat and blasts through the swamps of the Louisianan bayou in search of alligators before jumping on the train bound for New York.

As soon as he arrives into Grand Central station he is given a behind the scenes tour of the historic building but before heading out into the madness of Manhattan he jumps on the 7 train to explore New York’s largest borough, Queens, birthplace of Donald Trump and now the most ethnically diverse neighbourhood in the world.

Back in Manhattan, a local New Yorker takes Tony through the bustling streets of Times Square and 5th Avenue and then to the top of a midtown skyscraper to point out just much the city has evolved in the past few decades.
